Chubby Guy With Thunder Thighs

Does the fat around your inner thighs make you feel uncomfortable? It is time to shed the irritating, stubborn, upper-leg fat so that you can confidently walk without your thighs slapping against each other. Here are some effective tips for men on how to lose thigh fat.

Although body fat can be distributed evenly, you may have more fat in specific regions than others, for example, thighs. Thigh fat, like any other in the body, is not solely gender-influenced. Therefore men, as well as women, are faced with the challenge of getting rid of this unappealing and irritating fat that particularly causes discomfort during walking.

Legs and thighs have several muscles, for example, adductors, quadriceps, hamstrings, tibialis anterior soleus, and gastrocnemius. The most common type of fat cells in the thighs are the subcutaneous fat cells which are right beneath the skin and may result in fewer long-term health issues (7). Another type of fat cell in the leg area is the intramuscular fat cell which is dispersed within the muscle itself (7). Even though you may not spot-reduce thigh fat, you can spot train muscles to strengthen and tone them (15). Here are some of the exercises to perform.

We all do tend to fatten up with age, although there are interesting differences based on age and gender. Hormones drive the deposition of fat around the pelvis, buttocks, and thighs of women and the bellies of men. For women, this so-called sex-specific fat appears to be physiologically advantageous, at least during pregnancies. But it has a cosmetic down-side as well, in the form of cellulite. The potbelly, on the other hand, is a typical male form of obesity that has no known advantage and can be life threatening.

But this advantage brings one annoying disadvantage that many women experience: the orange-peel-look on the hips, thighs and buttocks called cellulite. Cellulite appears as body fat is gained and more of it is packed into existing cells. (Remember, new cells are not normally formed after adolescence.) These packed cells then swell and, when large enough, become visible through the skin. Adding insult to injury, as the skin gets thinner and less flexible with age, the puffed-up fat cells become even more visible. (Unfortunately, no cream, massage, vibrating machine, injection, pill, whirlpool bath, rubber pants or other gimmick will get rid of cellulite. The only help is general weight loss, with a sensible diet and regular exercise, which can reduce the effect.)

Those with gynoid body types tend to store more fat and muscle in their thighs and buttocks, while those with android body types store more fat in the abdomen or stomach. Typically, cisgender females have higher gynoid fat storage due to higher estrogen levels (2, 3).

Your front thighs are better known as your quadricep muscles, which are four long and large muscles that help with knee extension (straightening your leg). These include the vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, vastus intermedius, and rectus femoris (9, 10).

The back thighs are known as your hamstring muscles, which comprise three muscles that help with knee flexion (bending your leg). These include the biceps femoris, semimembranosus, and semitendinosus (9, 11).

Other important muscles of the thighs include the sartorius, pectineus, gracilis, adductor longus and magnus, and iliopsoas, which help with various movements such as adduction (bringing the leg toward the body), knee flexion, and hip flexion (9, 10).

For best results, incorporate various strength-training exercises with progressive overload to target all the muscles in your thighs. As you perfect your form, be sure to gradually add more volume and resistance to stimulate muscle growth.

For big guys with an athletic build, regular fits can also work. They give a slimming appearance as your rear and thighs are hugged by the denim while the rest of the leg is straight. The regular fit is a good match for guys with hips that are narrower than their shoulders.

This site has proved to be very enlightening. I believe I have lipedema, but it is not manifesting in my legs or thighs or bottom. Instead it is appearing on my arms and my upper back. Is this possible? I am a relatively small woman, am overweight by no more than 15-20 lbs, but my upper arms are really large and my upper back looks like it almost has sacks of weight. My arms and upper back feel tender and it is hard to get my arms into some shirts. My grandmother most definitely had lipedema, but it was in the legs, not in the upper body. I am dieting and exercising strenuously to lose that small amount of weight and I am having almost no luck, with my arms and back remaining disproportionately large and very achey. There are many times when I also find these areas are cold. 041b061a72
